ABOUT ifmaKC

Almost 30 years ago, Facility Managers in the Kansas City area needed a resource to share their experiences and learn from each other in managing the built environment so they formed the Kansas City Chapter of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA).  ifmaKC has more than 200 members that continue to uphold the principles of our founding members, many of whom are still active in the chapter today.  

A large percentage of Facility Managers are the “one-man band” in their organization encompassing issues that involve HVAC, pests, copiers, vending, supplies, wellness, construction, and furniture.  We give them the opportunity to share and expand their knowledge to become better contributors.  

Our Professional, Associate (vendor), Student and Lifetime members are from all industries.  We meet each month to discuss trending topics, tour facilities, learn about new practices, and of course, have some fun, especially at our annual golf outing, holiday party and at World Workplace.  

IfmaKC assists with career opportunities through networking, certification workshops, scholarship opportunities, webinars, and the Job Bank.  Throughout the decades, this chapter has a proven track record of community service, both local and international, as we’ve encouraged members to get involved.  Several members became Chairs of the International Board of Directors and IFMA’s Foundation.  Won’t you please come join us as we travel the city, region and even world enhancing the built environment community?
