What is ifmaKC?
Over 30 years ago, a group of Facility Managers in the Kansas City area recognized the need for a community to share experiences and support one another in managing the built environment. This vision led to the founding of the Kansas City Chapter of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA). Today, ifmaKC is a thriving network of nearly 250 members, continuing the legacy of our founding members—many of whom are still actively involved
Facility Managers often wear many hats, handling responsibilities from HVAC and construction to office wellness, sustainability and green initiatives and vendor management. ifmaKC provides a platform for facility professionals to connect, learn, and advance, helping them become stronger leaders in their organizations.

Our diverse membership includes Professional, Associate (vendor), Student, and Lifetime members from various industries. Each month, we gather to discuss emerging trends, tour unique facilities, and explore new best practices. And of course, we make time for fun—whether at our annual golf outing, holiday party, or IFMA’s World Workplace conference.

Beyond networking and education, ifmaKC supports career development through globally recognized certifications, including the Certified Facility Manager® (CFM®), Facility Management Professional™ (FMP®), and Sustainability Facility Professional® (SFP®) credentials. These certifications equip facility professionals with the skills and knowledge to advance their careers and excel in their roles.

ifmaKC assists with career opportunities through networking, certification workshops, scholarships, & webinars. With a long-standing tradition of community service both locally and internationally, our members are encouraged to get involved and make a difference, many of our members serve on the Boards of charitable organizations both locally and nationally. Several of our members have even gone on to serve as Chairs of IFMA’s International Board of Directors and Foundation

Join us as we continue to build connections, expand our impact, and shape the future of facility management—in Kansas City, the region, and beyond!
