ifmaKC awards scholarships and grants annually to area students and members pursuing education or a career in Facility Management.
Purpose
We are proud to support future facility management professionals. Our scholarships are open to students enrolled at a university, college, vocational-technical school, or community college.

Selection Criteria
Applicants will be evaluated based on the following:
1. Letter of Professional Intent
A typed letter outlining:

- Short- and long-term career goals
- Awareness and understanding of facility management concepts
- How your education connects to a career in facility management
- Short- and long-term career goals

2. Appraisals and Recommendations
Two letters of recommendation:

- Preferably from two faculty members, or
- One faculty member and one employer (if you have related work experience)
- Preferably from two faculty members, or

3. Excellence and Involvement
Demonstrated achievements through:

- Internships
- Relevant work experience
- Special projects
- Awards and honors
- Commitment to professional development
- Professional memberships

4. Academic Achievement
Official transcript (PDF accepted) to verify GPA and academic standing.
5. Personal Interview
Finalists will be invited to interview with the selection committee.
About the Selection Process
- Applications are reviewed by a professional committee from the Kansas City facility management community.
- Finalists are selected for interviews.
- Scholarship recipients ("Scholars") will be notified after interviews and asked to provide a photo for ifmaKC announcements.
Note:
The review committee reserves the right to:
- Modify the selection criteria
- Request additional applicant information
- Decline to award a scholarship if no suitable candidate is identified
